KosovaLive and IREX are currently implementing the Learn to Discern (L2D) – Kosovo project to address Kosovo’s media and information consumption challenges by equipping 1,100 young adults with media and information literacy skills through development of Very Verified (VV), a massive open online course (MOOC) that focuses on critical and analytic thinking skills.
To offer a blended learning experience, KosovaLive and IREX will identify and develop a cadre of trainers, called Very Verified Facilitators (VVFs), who have access to target audiences and can inform and inspire trainees to champion quality and healthy information engagement.
KosovaLive is looking for VVF candidates who are professional, motivated, and able to reach out to and adapt training methods and content for diverse groups of trainees. Applicants who have access to networks to recruit potential participants, such as students, will be prioritized. VVFs will receive training from Kosovalive through a Training of Trainers (ToT) and then will recruit participants into the VV course and supplement their independent learning with in-person or online instruction.
KosovaLive will select a diverse group of no fewer than 30 VVFs who demonstrate motivation, capability, and commitment to training a minimum of 20 students and young adults each.
Criteria for VVF selection include:
• Background in education, training, facilitation, and knowledge/skill-building (e.g., coming from an AC, school, local library, and/or youth training or CSO that offers trainings to community)
• Access to a natural group of learners (e.g., students, library patrons, youth program participants)
• Ability to facilitate interactive, engaging, learner-centered sessions
• Motivation and commitment to rolling out a series of sessions
• Curiosity, open-mindedness, and desire to contribute to one’s community
The call for applications will be open until September 6, 2021. If you have any questions regarding the application, please contact: info@kosovalive.org
