Arjeta Selimi from Obiliq says that she regularly consumes local products.
“To be honest, we consume several different products and we often do not know their origin. Personally, I prefer local products, since I have more trust in their quality and freshness. If I do not find a local product, I am forced to get another product,” Selimi says.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Loud shouts in deaf ears
“My father beat me several times before I got married. As many other girls I saw violence as something normal, so he was my parent and could beat me if I made any mistake. But, violence continued by my husband also… The unstable economic conditions were the main cause of violence. Our children were young and they did not understand anything, but now they are grown up and they protect me any time I have conflicts with my husband, but now he has started to change as well. Now that both of us work, we have better conditions and less conflicts,” she explains.


Youth are leaving Kamenica due to lack of perspective
“Every day, the intention of the Kamenica`s youth to flee is evident. A great number of my friends have already gone. Even those who are still here have the same intention. Me too, I`m just waiting to see if there will be any change in my city`s leadership. If not, I will move to Prishtina since there I will have more opportunities,” he hopes.


Lipjan`s youth see migration as a solution for lack of employment
There are around 57,600 inhabitants in Lipjan, of them 8,073 are employed in all sectors, according to the latest statistics of the public organization for initiatives and local support (POLIS). Whereas, according to the statistics of the municipality done by the Institute for Advanced Studies GAP in 2016, the overall number of the employees in the public sector was 1,506, whereas the number of people recorded as unemployed was 9,668.


With ideas and creativity, through self-employment, towards dreams
“We could not find bags that we liked, thus we came up with the idea of creating one of our own. We made that bag with the help of some seamstresses that were members of our family and we liked our first product. We received positive comments from our friends and relatives. Thus we came up with the idea of creating our brand,” says this couple from Prishtina.
